No quorum. No formal decisions.

1. New York Co-op Summit, Sept. 28

The New York Cooperative Summit to be held Saturday, September 28 at the Southside Innovation Center would like Eat To Live Food Co-op to host a store walk through tour during their lunch break and have our general manager or board member available for panel discussions of food co-ops and/or start-up co-ops. We agreed that Howie Hawkins will tell the Summit’s planning committee that we would host a tour and make our general manager and/or board members available for panels.

2. General Manager Jobs Search Document

Davine Bey’s job search document was approved. Shirley Rowser will notify him.

3. Employee Benefits Package

Shirley Rowser will set up a meeting with Terry Carguello of ENV Insurance Agency to go over the options for benefit packages for Eat To Live Food Co-op employees. Howie Hawkins will also attend.

4. Website

Howie Hawkins met with SU IT student Brian Fenno the learn how to post documents on the Eat To Live Food Co-op website. The website will go live when the PayPal or other payment service is installed. Shirley Rowser will work with Yaschia Kinsey to set up the account with Cooperative Federal so the payment service has an account to deposit membership certificate payments into. Howie Hawkins will contact Prof Venkatesh, the SU IT professor, to get an intern to help us over the summer with the website.

5. Membership Drive

The co-op’s business plan calls for 300 members by the time the store opens, which is August 1 or as soon thereafter as possible. The co-op has 50 members at present. Howie Hawkins will combine all the lists of contacts from Store for a Day, the dinners with potential members, Ian Grant’s survey of potential members, and sign up sheets from various events into one spreadsheet we can use to solicit members. Howie Hawkins is willing to go door to door to the list in June and July. We also have the opportunity to email a solicitation to city employees through Shirley Rowser.

6. New Board Member

Shirley Rowser will invite Calvin Corridors to the next board meeting to discuss having him join the board.

7. Banner for Store Construction Site

We agreed to order and pay for ourselves a banner to be displayed outside the store construction site. The county Health Department offered to pay for it but was moving too slow. Howie Hawkins will complete the order.

Respectfully submitted,
Howie Hawkins, Secretary
